The Future Inns Hotel in Cardiff Bay is a modern western style chain hotel, sitting close to the Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff Bay.

A walk across the car-parks from Future Inn leads to (and through) the Red Dragon Entertainment Centre (cinemas, restaurants, and bowling)  and on to the Cardiff Bay waterfront area. Here you find many restaurants and the beautiful Cardiff Bay Millennium Centre.

The room at the Future Inns was typical of a western style hotel. Nothing stood out as being either above or below standard. The door to the bathroom is very interesting though, as it could close off the bathroom, or swing a further 90 degrees to close off the separate toilet. A clever arrangement that needs to be see to be understood. The only other thing we noted was that the windows up here (sealed closed) hosted the largest family of very ugly spiders that I have ever seen (on the outside). There must have been about 50 spiders living on our window. Not good for arachnophobics.

We didn’t eat in the restaurant of the hotel, although it looked to be of reasonable standard and price. Rather, we opted to walk to the Pizza Hut which is located a mere 30m across the car-park. Dinner was pizza in our room.

Notably, as we left the hotel we wanted to throw away two old suitcases. It was refreshing that the hotel happily took these from us to dispose of at their cost.

We would probably return to the Future Inn… the price was right.
