Your Base in Santiago

The Hotel Los Nogales in Providencia, Santiago is a perfect base for a visit to this fascinating city.

The breakfast. however, is not worth writing home about… and we have frequently skipped it for a better breakfast from a takeaway joint 5 minutes walk away at the Panorama Shopping Centre area.

There are plenty of good restaurants, bars, fast food outlets, and shops in the area. A subway station also connect you quickly with the centre of town and other areas of interest.

Providencia is a safe neighbourhood of Santiago and consists mostly of nice apartment buildings, many with their own security services. We felt very safe walking around both day and night.

The rooms are very reasonably priced ($55 in 2005/6) and have air conditioning and a kitchen. We would stay there again without hesitation.
